Photomultiplier tube
A photomultiplier tube (PMT) detector is a highly sensitive device that detects and amplifies low levels of light emitted from a sample.
The photomultiplier tube (PMT) offers exceptional sensitivity and fast response times, making it ideal for capturing detailed panchromatic cathodoluminescence (CL) signals. This enables precise analysis of material properties, defects, and inhomogeneities at the nanoscale.
The PMT can be mounted on a dedicated light port with interferometric filters to optimize speed and efficiency or on a spectrograph port for maximum wavelength flexibility. It is designed to fully utilize the bandwidth capacity of the Attolight scan card, with the ability to operate at dwell times as short as 50 ns/pixel. Various PMT technologies are available to enhance detection efficiency, tailored to specific user requirements.
